Fi is a visual artist whose practice includes film, print, installation and artist’s books. Her work is often playful; reflecting upon the nature of perception, the cyclical and infinity. Fi is excited by science and philosophy and the idea that there could be an infinite number of unseen realities. Also, the more grounded notion that there are at least 360 ways of looking at anything and everything. Her finished pieces often reflect this by being circular in form.
“I really value the creative process itself; the exciting and often serendipitous journey that takes place into the unknown between initial concepts and their later realisation. This embracing approach enables development of different and surprising forms which in themselves act as catalysts for further projects”.
“Another underlying thread to my work is that I tend to take a compassionate look at the duality and confusion of being human
- the paradox of being part of nature but setting ourselves apart from it through the gift and burden of language and ideas”.
